I discovered this and decided to buy it. There are no Japanese reviews or ratings available yet, so this might be the very first review from Japan. It is listed as capable of 4K recording,but the actual resolution is up to 2880×2160 at 24fps with a bitrate of 24,666 kbps,recording at a rate of 3MB/s per second. This means 180MB per minute and approximately 6 minutes of recording per GB. Comparing this to full HD, which was 14Mbps, the required capacity is nearly twice as much. This applies not just to dash cams but also that you need high-durability MLC SD cards for dash cams, otherwise thay might break within a few months.The quality is excellent, even with its high resolution, and it’s the best quality I’ve seen so far. I used to use the DrivePro 230 and 70mai 1s,but the ROVE R2-4K’s quality is overwhelming.it can even read license plates in dark areas. It comes with GPS and speed measurement, and naturally, it has many features. The menu on the device is also in Japanese, and there’s a guide as well. You can also turn off the voice guidance and switch to mechanical sounds, and the option to turn it completely silent is surprisingly convenient. Currently, there’s a 3000 yen coupon available. Since it’s just entering the Japanese market, they’re probably giving it away cheaply, but in the US, it’s sold for around $120, so it seems like a great value for now. The only downside is definately the mini-USB port. As seen in the photos, it’s clearly mini-USB, and honestly, it’s surprising to see mini-USB still being used in 2023. At the very least, a micro-USB would have been preferable…However, considering the overall quality and value, I can except this as the only drawback. Given the price, I don’t think this sale won’t last long, but as a 4K dash cam with decent quality and all the necessary functions, it’s a near-perfect product.
