Our experience with the Bounty Hunter Tracker IV metal detector was nothing short of delightful. We used it during a family treasure hunt, and it proved to be a fantastic tool for both children and adults. The device was light enough for the kids to manage, and they were fully engaged in the activity, even though they were still learning the ropes. It wasn’t long before they found several treasures, including a surprising dime that I hadn’t placed there! The youngest ended up with a bit more than I had planned, and the older child was a bit upset that her sister found more, but that was part of the fun.

The unit came with a 4″ coil, which we found a bit short for our needs, so we opted to shorten the pole to make it more manageable for the children. It worked well, and the kids enjoyed experimenting with the different modes-discrimination, all metal, and tone. we also found some unexpected nails,which might have been a bonus for someone interested in prospecting or finding hidden objects in public spaces.

Although I haven’t tested it for unsalted “coin shooting” or in deeper soil conditions, I’m still impressed with its reliability and performance. It’s easy to operate, and the controls are straightforward, making it an excellent choice for beginners. The device also has a retro aesthetic, which we found appealing and added to the overall appeal of the hobby.

As a frist-time user, I appreciate the simplicity and affordability.However, I would recommend comparing it with higher-end models like pulse induction detectors if you’re looking for more advanced features. this metal detector has worked well for us and we’re already planning our next treasure hunt!
